“What should I wear for the photo shoot?” is a question I have been asked in the past. My answer for a general portrait shoot has always been along the lines of “Whatever you feel comfortable in and won’t mind other people seeing you in on the finished photos.”
This could elicit a number of reactions (including me not being any help), but my opinion has always been that while I have an opinion on what looks good on people, I’m not a stylist (as my wife’s reactions to some of my own fashion choices will attest!) so am not really qualified to pass judgement.
Unless our time is severely limited, there should be time for clothing and styling changes so if we need to change something, we can!
I’m happy to pass my own comments on the look you choose, but you know far better than I do what you look good wearing, whether the shoot is a “wrap up warm in the winter” outdoor snow shoot, or a sexy lingerie shoot, or a general family portrait shoot.
At the end of the day, I’m there to capture the best images I can from the looks you choose, so choose well and enjoy both the experience and the end product.
