Upcoming Gig Review – Fearless Vampire Killers/Bad Pollyanna at Corporation, Sheffield – 20/10/2012

So I’ve been a fan of Bad Pollyanna since I saw them at BOMFest back in 2010, and have seen them play numerous times around Barnsley in the time since then. Now they are supporting Fearless Vampire Killers (FVK) at the Corporation and I’m off to review the gig for GigJunkies.

But this is their new line-up after Sam and Pete moved on to other projects. Will I like what I hear and see? I’ve seen bootleg video footage of the new lineup from a gig at the Old Turk in Dewsbury and I enjoyed what I saw, but the sound quality left a lot to be desired so I can’t wait to see how the new members handle the old favourites.

And what about FVK? I’ve listened to their album, “Militia Of The Lost”, and like it quite a lot. First impressions reminded me of “My Chemical Romance” circa “The Black Parade”, but with a harder, punchier, “less emo, more metal” edge and the video footage I’ve seen of them at the Download festival certainly showed they have loads of energy, so I’m really looking forward to seeing them perform.

Roll on 20th October!
